Have had this for over a year and it is still just beautiful. Have had many compliments. Very functional. I use several times every day.
Disappointed
Creative Home Sphere 3 Qt kettle was beautiful out of the box. Added just the right shiny accent to an otherwise unremarkable cooktop. The whistle was audible several rooms away, but not ear-piercing by any means. Fine by me (just don't run your vacuum while boiling water!) The handle did not get hot and it poured without dribbling. I liked the in-handle spout-cap lift ... no need to touch a steaming hot spout-cap to pour your water.
The PROBLEM: after about 6 months of use, small chips in the metallic finish began appearing. Just small dots but enough to be disappointing. This was not from bumping it up against anything; it seemed to be more of a heat issue. Now, after less than 10 months of moderately heavy use (3-5 times per day), the cranberry color on the bottom of the kettle has developed an unsightly orangey tinge. Again, I attribute this to a heat problem. I have a gas stove and the curved bottom allows the flame (on high) to lick up the sides. I have had a variety...

It gives a metallic flavor to the boiled water....Terrible.....Looked very good for about two weeks, but now shows many small cracks from that time on....$45.00 for this horrid thing.....I feel violated and robbed......I woudn't gives this to Osama, if he was still alive....No thanks to this company.....I'll be sure never to shop with them again......P.D.Rice
