Not Up to Snuff
As a Francophile and home cook enthusiast, my appreciation of Le Creuset cast iron, enamel-coated casserole cookware and is very high (BTW, I have a gas stovetop and oven and have been using them since purchased 4 months ago).
However, my enthusiasm for the brand name has been tarnished by the purchase of this low quality set (Le Creuset Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Cookware Set, 10-piece). Basically, this line is made in China (not France as the cast iron, enamel-coated pots are) and the result is not what I expected from such a quality-focussed company. I don't know how to describe the steel other than poor quality in the sense that:
1. they scratch easily (even in shipping there were a few cosmetic scratches);
2. the steel discolors easily and in splotches (small brown discolorations that only come off with a mild abrasive like Bar Keeper's Friend) on bottom AND sides;
3. the frypan had a pit on the inside of it (the size of a grain of salt) that I did...
